Spring Fever

Over the past 7 months, my photographic subject has been solely my son Julian, for obvious reasons. It cures my creative itch to photograph, learn and practice some new technique I read on a blog somewhere. So, when my sister-in-law Amy said she needed some photographs shot of herself for her website (www.amydemille.ca) I was excited to oblige. Red hair + blue eyes + porcelain skin = great photos.

Cute as a button

As a new mom, I spend my days soothing, burping, rocking, singing, changing diapers, and occasionally I find a window of opportunity to take a few pictures of my son. The casual snapshot will not suffice my creative side, so out comes backdrops of various textures, colours and patterns, clothing options, hats, and my baby voice. I've been blessed with a happy little fellow who is getting to know the camera pretty well for a mere 9 weeks old.

My husband and I are proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Julian Mario Joseph Colalillo. Born August 24th at 9:45pm, weighing in at a healthy 10.8 lbs. And as usual mommy couldn't wait to start snappin!

Too PHat to PHoto

Well it seems I reached my breaking point and must put a halt to my photography for the next couple of months. Unfortunately I will not be booking any new sessions for the remainder of the summer and early fall. I plan to enjoy the rest of my one and a half months of pregnancy finishing up my full time job and enjoying the growing munchkin inside of me.

I am currently working on my new website to launch in the fall, which I am really excited about. And I look forward to booking many wonderful and creative sessions soon after that.

Little Jack

Well it's been a while since I've posted anything new. Due to my own pregnancy (now 6 months along!!), I'm finally feeling like I've got my groove back. So it's back to doing what I love, photographing babies and children. Here are some from a recent session of Jack and his yummy mummy.

Shades of Stratford

I've been meaning to post some pictures of this beautiful town I live in. Stratford is enchanting, even more so around the holidays. As Christmas approaches it magically transforms into a Norman Rockwell painting. Carollers dressed in Victorian costumes stroll the streets singing holiday favourites, wonderful smells from bakeries and chocolatiers waft on by, and Santa and LIVE reindeer attract children in droves. If you love Christmas as much as I do, you'll eat this town up!

I snapped a few as I was shopping downtown one afternoon. We have possibly the coolest toy store ever. If you come to town, you must pay a visit to Family & Company. Its storefront attracts the finest of window droolers, of all ages. And inside you'll find a jam-packed, toy-lovers heaven, fully equipped with a soda bar.

I hope to share more of this festive town as the 25th creeps up on us. 23 MORE DAYS!
